What’s New in BudgetFYI 4.2
BudgetFYI 4.2 introduces improvements across the full budgeting workflow:
- Guided setup. A validated, step-by-step path for naming scenarios, confirming company structure, and assigning accounts, templates, and owners before a single number is entered.
- Excel-native formulas. Budget cells now hold real formulas — such as =SUM(P1:P12) or =G6*1.03 — exactly as users would enter them in Excel, complete with familiar #REF! and #VALUE! error flags.
- Automatic protection. Budget entries autosave in the background, eliminating the need to manually save or navigate past warning dialogs.
- Consolidated power-user tools. Drivers, scratchpads, propagate, and advanced spreading are now accessible from a single Budget Actions ribbon, with every milestone tracked in an audit trail.
- Role-aware monitoring. A new dashboard surfaces outstanding tasks and scenario status at a glance, without requiring users to dig through menus.
- Automated publishing. Approved budgets reconcile against the general ledger automatically and can publish directly to financial statements, with workforce budgeting fully built out.

BudgetFYI 4.2 is available now to current FYIsoft customers and to organizations evaluating a connected budgeting and financial reporting platform. Existing BudgetFYI customers will be upgraded automatically as part of FYIsoft’s cloud release process.
